A migraine is a specific type of headache that is more severe and debilitating than most other types of headaches. Migraines cause severe throbbing, usually on one side of the head. However, some patients may experience pain on both sides of the head. Other symptoms of migraine headaches may include sensitivity to light, sensitivity to sound, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, and lightheadedness.
Chiropractic care can be helpful for patients with migraines in several different ways. For many people who suffer frequent migraines, stress and tension serve as triggers. Regular chiropractic care can relieve some of this tension, thus reducing the likelihood of future headaches. A trained chiropractor can also address any problems with alignment in the neck that could be contributing to the development of headaches.
Several different chiropractic techniques may be helpful for patients with migraines. Depending on the specifics of the patient's condition, the staff at Better Chiropractic may use massage therapy, manual manipulation, ultrasound, trigger point therapy, and other techniques to relieve pain and/or reduce the frequency of migraine attacks.
The staff at Better Chiropractic understands all of the different factors that can contribute to the development of migraines. Each time he encounters a new migraine patient, he takes the time to evaluate the patient's condition so that he can understand the source of the migraines. Using this information, he develops a customized treatment plan designed to prevent future migraines and/or reduce the severity of attacks.
The staff at Better Chiropractic provides treatment for patients who are in the middle of a migraine attack, as well as those who are not currently experiencing a migraine but are hoping to limit future attacks.
